    There are simple looking solutions that don't quite work. The correct answer is 1. Qe7!, and now ...

    1... Qxa7 2. Qd8#.
    1... Kxa7 2. Nc6#.
    1... b6 2. Qc7#.
    1... Kc8 2. Rxa8#.
